Mohd. Sahid Hj. Nawab Khan, aged 53, began his career with SPA as Cadet Assistant Traffic Superintendent at Kota Kinabalu Port on 1st March 1971 and his last position held in SPA was as the Corporate Secretary. He holds a Master in Port Management and Harbour Administration, Antwerp, Belgium. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport (London), Member of the Chartered Institute of Materials Handling (London), and an Associate Member of the Institute of Traffic Administration (London). He is a licensed Company Secretary since 1997 and a Member of Company Secretarial Practice Group (Malaysia).
He has vast experience in port's operation having been served as Assistant Traffic Superintendent at Sandakan Port; Officer-in-Charge in Kudat Port for six years; and Acting Traffic Superintendent in Tawau Port for two years. On 21st April 1982, he was promoted to the post of Traffic Superintendent and transferred to Lahad Datu Port. During the period 1989 - 1990, he went on study leave to take Master in Port Management and Harbour Administration at Antwerp, Belgium on a Malaysian Government/UNCTAD Fellowship. In July 1994, he was transferred to the Sabah Ports Authority Headquarters as the Acting Secretary and was later promoted to the post of Corporate Secretary of SPA on 24th October 1998.
