Beside being actively involved in its business functions in the pursuit of business excellence, SuriaGroup is also well aware of its social obligations, by giving back to the society. Emphasis has been mainly aimed at helping the needy and less fortunate segment of the society especially in Sabah.
A half-day blood donation campaign in aid of Likas Hospital's Blood Bank was held on Labour Day (1May 2007) at the Jesselton Point, Ferry Terminal, Kota Kinabalu. It received very encouraging response from the staff and the public alike. A total of 60 pints of blood was collected during the drive.
SuriaGroup made its donations in aid of fire victims involving 62 families at Tanjung Aru. It was held at Tanjung Aru Lama on 6 October 2007, partly to ease their financial burden in preparation for the Hari Raya Celebration.
Through the Corporate Golf Invitation event, SuriaGroup has helped raise fund for the Tun Ahmadshah Foundation in conjunction with its 3rd Anniversary Celebrations held on 8 September 2007.
Donation for the Ramadhan Aid Programme 2007 to the poor and orphanages from nearby villages in the surrounding vicinity of the Sapangar Bay Container Port was handed through Karambunai Assemblywoman, Yang Berhormat Hjh. Jainab Binti Datuk Seri Panglima Hj. Ahmad, who is also the Assistant Minister of Industrial Development. The handing-over was made during a "Majlis Berbuka Puasa' function on 20 September 2007.
SuriaGroup through its subsidiary, SCHB Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd. has carried out various kind of maintenance works on Masjid Negeri Sabah and Masjid Bandaraya Likas.
In addition,we have also participated in several external fund raising in aid of the needy including Sabah Welfare Association of Poor and Needy (Perkemas), the orphanages of Yayasan Kebajikan Suria, Badan Muafakat MRSM and Sabah Society For The Blind.
